Back to Day Care!

After over 5 months of stay-at-home-mommyhood, the beginning of July marked my return to the working world. Although it has been a tougher transition than I had anticipated (I really miss my little Buddy and am still trying to figure out how I got ANYTHING done at home when I was working), I am really enjoying my new job. I am working in the legal department of an aerospace and defense company, so the technology is cutting edge (and sometimes even classified!), and I am finding that corporate life is a much better balance than law firm life!

Of course it had to happen that I started my job as soon as Tod was starting his month-long summer break. We had planned to spend a lot of time as a family up at the Lake during July, but instead I worked and Tod stayed home with Milo 3 days a week (the other days to day care). They enjoyed their time together and completed a lot of projects around the house with the help of my sister Meghan's husband Alex (fondly referred to by Milo as "Al" in the loudest voice possible), who was finally able to join Meghan here after finishing his work commitments in Boston. Meg and Alex ("Megalex" for short) just entered contract on a new house, and it is only about a 10 minute drive from us!

With the beginning of August came the end of Tod's short summer break (the downside to being an administrator!) and Milo's return to day care on a full time basis. Milo's first week went very well. He loves all of his friends and teachers, and is sleeping SO much better. It is definitely nice to have him back on a more consistent schedule!

I have been a slacker lately with respect to taking photos, so the following will have to do. Milo is 100% boy and LOVES anything having to do with cars, trains, trucks, airplanes, motorcycles and anything else with wheels. In a recent outing with my sister Ryanne and her fiance Sean, he discovered this "choo choo" and the rest was history...

On this particular night, wearing our food was apparently more fun than eating it!
