The Great Minnesota Get-Together

A few pictures from the 2010 Minnesota State Fair

The motorcycles were one of my favorites as a kid,
and Milo seemed to really like them too
He was NOT a fan of the dinosaur ride!

He's already making his Christmas wish-list!

Family Time

Yesterday we took Milo to Como Zoo and Comotown. A beautiful day and so much fun!

In other news, a few weeks ago, Tod and I got to enjoy a little adults-only getaway with our friends Scott and Stef, who we haven't seen since Milo was just a few months old. We were invited to a wedding in Green Bay so we spent a couple days before the wedding in Door County, Wisconsin. We had a great time catching up with Scott and Stef, and Door County was amazing! The wedding in Green Bay (at Lambeau Field!) was a lot of fun as well. It was a fun little vacation.

While we were away, Milo split his his time with my sisters and Tod's family. He got to do lots of fun things, but one story in particular is worth mentioning. As the story goes, after picking up Milo from school one day, Meghan and Alex took him over to their house for dinner. Rookies that they are, they did not pack an extra set of clothes. And while Milo is pretty much potty trained, he does have the occasional accident, and of course had to have one that evening. No clothes to change him into, so what did they do? They got an old pair of Meg's basketball shorts and cinched them together with a chip clip! Milo the prize fighter was born! I have been trying for weeks to upload a video that they took but can't get it to work, so a picture will have to do. The victim in the photo is uncle Sean. No wonder the kid loves his aunties and uncles so much!

Today we took Milo to "A Day Out With Thomas." It was a great time despite the sweltering heat!

Full House!

Tod's brother Tim and his family are in town from Florida, so tonight we had a BBQ with all of Tod's siblings and their families, as well as Tim's wife Ann's 2 sisters and their families. It was a full house--16 kids total, ranging in age from 10 to just a few weeks old. Fun!

15 of the 16

We have also had some recent excitement weather-wise with typical summer storms. We were relegated to the basement last night to wait out a tornado warning, but didn't get much more than some wicked thunder and lightening. Tod (who I swear was a storm chaser in his former life) braved the weather to catch a few photos.

Milo Singing with the Peas

The other day Milo and I were in the car on our way to the aquarium at the Mall of America, and all of a sudden I heard singing from the back seat. Not unusual to hear him singing, but this time it was not one of his ordinary songs--Milo was singing along with the Black Eyed Peas!

I have no idea how he knew that song. It is on a CD that I have playing in the car right now, but 90% of the time when he is in the car with me we have a movie going on the DVD player. It isn't like we play that song over and over for him, although now he has started requesting it.

This video doesn't do the moment justice (and I can't figure out how to rotate it), but I wanted to share it anyways. Hilarious!

Milo and His Dinosaurs Invade Target Field!

Last night my sisters and I took Milo (and his favorite dinosaurs) on his first trip to Target Field. He had such a great time taking it all in and exploring that I'm pretty sure he didn't even notice there was a baseball game going on until about the 8th inning. It was a really fun night, and the Twins won!

In the car on the way to Target Field (with T-Rex #1 and #2)
Walking through the skywalk...T-Rex #1 and #2 in tow!

Waiting out the rain (with T-Rex #1 and #2), we got a surprise viewing of
T.C., the Twins' mascot!
A rare moment of sitting still and watching the game (with Mommy and T-Rex #1 and #2)
Showing off his new red bat...where are T-Rex #1 and #2?

Recent Pics

Wanted to quickly share a few recent pictures. Over the weekend Milo had his first Dairy Queen experience, and I think the pictures speak for themselves about how much he enjoyed that! Today I took him grocery shopping and let him push the cart. He took it very seriously and did an excellent job! And tonight Daddy brought him something he has been wanting for a long time!

All by myself!
The little flag says "Customer in Training"
His very own car!
